The Strollers is a very friendly group of both male and female doing walks at a leisurely pace of 2 miles or less with no stiles and a cafe or pub at the end. We meet second Wednesday of every month.

There may be steps, slight slopes, uneven paths or a little mud etc. Before each stroll you will be emailed rough details of the nature and terrain of the route. Please note that it is the responsibility of the member, not the u3a, to decide on appropriate clothing, footwear and if the route is suitable for your abilities.

So if you enjoy a leisurely placed stroll through countryside or villages with no stiles and a distance no further than two miles, then this is possibly for you.

You will be asked to complete an Emergency Card which you must carry on all walks should we need to contact anyone on your behalf. You can download a card to complete by clicking on this link. Emergency Card

In June 2025 twelve of our Strollers had a very warm and sunny 1.8 mile walk around Swanholme, being former gravel pits and now a lovely nature reserve.

We parked at the Swan Home pub and walked along the tree lined Pike, turning to walk through woods and skirting Coot Major Lake, Dragonfly Lake and walking all around Sanctuary Lake. We saw rhododendron in bloom, waterfowl, a swan and masses of dragon flies.

We followed our walk by having lunch at the newly built Whisby Garden Centre Cafe. A good time was had by all.

In May twelve members travelled to Whisby Nature Reserve and strolled around Grebe Lake and onto the viewing area at Teal Lake. The sun shone, the breeze was pleasant, and Spring was in full bloom. we heard a cuckoo calling, and water birds were calling and feeding. A pleasant time, with refreshments at the cafe afterwards.
