Grand Central Railway Reunification
Reunification is the most exciting railway project in UK railway preservation. By rebuilding five
hundred meters of track the connection of two halves of the Great Central, one in Leicestershire,
the other in Nottinghamshire has created an eighteen mile heritage line to power the East
Midlands tourism economy. Three parts of this plan has already been undertaken. In 2026 two
more sections could be completed if funds allow.
