Collingham u3a Showcase Brings Local Learning to Life.

Collingham Memorial Hall was transformed last week into a lively hub of conversation and creativity as Collingham U3A held its much anticipated showcase event. With over 30 interest groups presenting table displays, the day offered a colourful glimpse into the activities enjoyed by the group’s 170 members.
From local history and drawing to the ever-popular breakfast club, each display reflected the warmth, curiosity and community spirit that define Collingham u3a.
Visitors were invited to explore group projects, chat with members and discover how retirement can be a springboard for learning, laughter and lasting friendships.
The atmosphere was fantastic said u3a Chair Christine Stothard. It was wonderful to see so many people sharing their passions and welcoming newcomers with such enthusiasm.
Refreshments flowed, conversation sparked and several guests expressed interest in joining or starting new groups. The event also highlighted Collingham u3a’s commitment to supporting older adults to stay active, engaged and connected
whether through creative pursuits, social gatherings or shared interests.
As the day drew to a close, organisers reflected on the success of the event and the strength of the local u3a community and proved that learning never retires – and neither does the joy of belonging.
