This is a friendly group who enjoy reading a variety of scripts and some poetry. No acting is required, just be prepared to take part and enjoy. Occasionally the group will read out one of the plays at a General Meeting.
The latest play that the group tackled was Arcadia by Tom Stoppard.
We are relaxed, but lively and friendly group who share an interest in plays and the theatre.
Play sets are obtained on loan from the very well stocked Nottingham Performing Arts Library.
We then each take a part and sit comfortably round the table reading it, enjoying the story as it unfolds. No acting skills required and coffee break with biscuits.
Some plays might be known to us, but many are new discoveries, whether they be comedies, tragedies or murder mysteries.
Over the years we have read plays from Alan Bennett to Chekov; Arthur Miller to Alan Ayckbourn; George Bernard Shaw to Agatha Christie and many in between.
