Group Leader Ann Platt
The History Group meets on the 4th Friday of each month at 10.00am in the YCC. We are a friendly, welcoming group with an interest in history of all kinds and all periods of the past. None of us are experts, but we share our various interests with each other in a short presentations. Over the past year we have learned about Workhouse/prison food, The First Fleet to Australia, the Bayeaux Tapestry, Florence Nightingale, the origins of the Organ, the Roman Ninth Legion and Olive Edis, a woman photographer at the time of WW1.
In September we visited the Guildhall in Lincoln, to see the collection of the historic regalia belonging to the City of Lincoln.
